104.9 is a community radio station based in the heart of the Sunshine Coast’s media precinct. We are licensed to serve a mature listening audience aged 45+. The combination of our ‘more music’ format and our commitment to being a truly local broadcaster has made Sunshine FM the most listened-to radio station on The Coast.

Sunshine FM is sponsored by community-minded local and national businesses that buy sponsorship campaigns. Their support allows us to continue to provide a quality, relevant, not-for-profit local radio service.

We are expanding our sales team. Ideally, you will have experience in media sales or a related field. You will be based in Maroochydore and share a sales territory that covers most of the Sunshine Coast and hinterland. You will need to have unrestricted use of a reliable vehicle, an unrestricted driver’s licence and a mobile phone. The role will include some after hours work from time to time, including participation in station events and Outside Broadcasts.

You will look after existing clients and proactively develop new ones. To be successful in this role, you will represent Sunshine FM to the highest standards of business and personal conduct. Required skills and capabilities include:

• Proven experience in successfully building and maintaining constructive business relationships with a diverse range of clients

• Demonstrated commitment to providing the best possible client service and capacity to identify strategies that will deliver the best possible outcome for our clients

• Strong presentation skills, demonstrated capacity to create effective sales and marketing campaigns, and ability to write on-message copy

• Attention to detail, effective time-management skills and capacity to function constructively in a deadline-driven working environment

• Genuine commitment to being a team player and workplace conduct based on individual responsibility and accountability

• A minimum of intermediate computer skills, and sound working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Office suite of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Remuneration will comprise an Award-based salary plus commission based on achieving sales goals.
